The Oriental Insurance Company

The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. is an open division non-extra security organization in India. The home office of the organization is situated in New Delhi with 30 provincial workplaces and more than 1800 dynamic branches the nation over. The organization likewise has branches in Nepal, Kuwait, and Dubai.  The organization has recorded a gross premium of Rs. 7282.54 crores in the budgetary year 2013-2014.

History


Oriental Insurance was fused on 12 September 1947 as a legislature claimed non-disaster protection company. It was set up as a totally possessed auxiliary of Oriental Government Security Life assurance c0mpany Ltd. to carry out its parent body's general protection operations.  In 1956, when protection business was nationalized, Oriental protection turned out to be a piece of LIC till 1973. After 1973, Oriental Insurance turned into an auxiliary of General Insurance Corporation of India till 2003 when the organization was de-connected from the guardian organization and set up as an autonomous protection company.  In 2003, the Union Government obtained every one of the shares of Oriental Insurance Company Ltd from General Insurance Corporation of India.
